140 Chairs - Exhibition

The project stems from an obsession with drawing chairs. To me, the chair is the ultimate design object. It is a perfect combination of beauty and function. Many designs have interpreted the chair in their own unique way, leading to the catalogue of different chair designs we see in the world today.

I spent 2 years drawing 140 different chair designs - which feature as small illustrations in the exhibition. The main artworks in the show are hand tufted wall hanging rugs that display different chairs from my illustration collection. 

The series was custom made for the exhibition housed at Murmur in Amsterdam.
